We saw a heartbeat today! YAY!!!!

To those that love us,

We understand that sharing the news of this pregnancy with you happened very early. Due to our struggle with infertility we did not have the benefit of keeping a secret for 3 months as is the norm due to the fact that so many of you were following our progress with the IVF cycle.

Since we have shared this news with you, the only thing we ask is that you keep any fears and worries you have about this pregnancy to yourself. Yes it is early and things can happen. We are aware of that and would appreciate not hearing it from those we know only care about us and want to support us. The way to show us your support is to say encouraging things, be excited for us and resist saying anything negative.

Over the weekend we had a visitor. Isn't he cute!!! I do think he was blind though because if we were fairly quiet, he would ignore us. Once the screen door slammed a bit and he waddled back under the porch but he came back out a minute or 2 later. Nothing was going to keep him from his food!





The night before last we also had 3 raccoons visit our backyard (it sounded like they were throwing a party!) It woke us both up around 2 am. We finally got a good look at them when they all congregated on our neighbors roof and our fence by the guest room. We turned on the outside light and went to the guest room where we were able to look at them out the window about a foot away! They growled at us and seemed a bit bothered but not enough to leave. I think Jamie got back to sleep around 3 and me about 3:30 or 4. Luckily they did not come back last night but they sure were cute!!!

Most people would share this news about 8 weeks from now, but all of you know the details of what is going on and would kill me if we made you wait 8 weeks. As of this moment we are the "p" word but I am not comfortable with the idea of celebrating. Maybe in 3 weeks when we see a heartbeat or 9 weeks when we make it out of the first trimester or 24 more weeks when a baby would have a half decent shot on the outside. I'm not sure. Still a bit shellshocked. Assuming all goes well, our due date is May 14. Please don't share this with anyone I work with! Thanks!!! And yes, we are very excited!!

Last weekend we tried to beat the heat and went to Lake Arrowhead. They screwed up on our cabin and put us right on the highway so we complained and got a monster huge house!!! It had beautiful views, a big porch and a bigscreen tv! Talk about hitting the rental jackpot! The place was so big, we called up Laine and he and a friend came up too. It was a wonderful relaxing weekend, and a lot cooler too!
